Protean 3d Modeling Software

About Tactus Technologies, Inc.

Tactus Technologies, Inc. was co-founded by Drs. Kevin Chugh, Kesh Kesavadas and James Mayrose, in 2001, as a spin-off from the Virtual Reality Lab at the State University of New York at Buffalo.  Tactus specializes in commodity level Virtual Reality applications for education, medical and industrial markets. The company has successfully developed numerous software innovations in the field of VR which have led to the ability to deploy advanced realtime simulation on a standard PC.  Examples of these innovations include V-Frog, a frog dissection software for K-12 education, and Protean Clay, a 3D computer modeling system that combines low cost hardware with advanced physics, for industrial design. Protean is the result of three years of research and development effort by Tactus Technologies, parts of which were funded by National Science Foundation.
